First off, let me give a hearty thanks to the board creators for getting this forum going (It's been really frustrating not having an official game forum so far). The WOTB forum was pivotal for me in learning how to Tank, so I'm glad to finally have a similar opportunity for Blitz Ships (I'm over 600 games in, and over 60% WR, but still just scratching the surface).
So, looking for thoughts on ammo selection, beyond the obvious BBs using AP against each other (and usually against CAs), and CAs and DDs spamming HE at more heavily armored ships.
I'm still unsure about smaller caliber guns against CAs and DDs. I usually see cruisers shooting AP at each other, and that seems to be most effective, and cruisers also usually shoot AP at DDs.
But what should DDs use against each other? I've switched back and forth a few times, and haven't really settled on a definite preference. Angling seems to make a difference as to doing full or partial damage, but I haven't verified this. Anecdotally, IJN DDs seem to be softer, and more vulnerable to HE, while USN DDs are tougher.
How much does tier separation matter? Against higher tier DDs, I've been shooting more AP, and switching to HE for lower tier opponents.

Separately, how much does shot placement matter? And I mean beyond just aiming for broadside shots. I know what in PC, you can aim for BB superstructures to help set fires. Anybody know if the hit boxes in Blitz make this distinction?
