Wows veteran player here, considering trying this game. I had number of questions about the differences between this game and it’s big PC brother. Most pronounced differences I noticed are the size of teams, size of maps, direct control over secondaries, and more consumable options. How does it translate into meta? Does this game have +1-1 MM or mostly +2-2 MM? Is high tier popular enough to have short queue times? What is the popular tier(s) to play? Is T10 too costly to run without playing lower tiers? Is there permanent camo available for running high tier ships at reduced cost? What are the premiums that have most impact on the battle? Are CVs popular? What type of ships is the preferred type, and does it change with tiers?
1. My experience is the gametime (6 mins) makes everything a big rush headlong. MM is skewy right now and weird. You'll see a lot of 4+ DD games which just suck on an undeniable level as a BB guy. I haven't noticed a huge difference in manual control of secondaries honestly, maybe a little bit but its iffy sometimes. 2. Consumables; pretty close to using flags and such in Wows not a whole lot of difference just done differently. 3.+1/-1 MM unless you see failtoons 4. I've seen people in X's but they're rare, usually its people who have played since beta and skipped the IX altogether. 5. How expensive X is? Highest I've gotten has is 8 right now so I can't speak to what the higher ups are seeing. 6. I think 6 is most popular right now, 7 was my favorite tho the Nagy is a fun ship 7. I think the De Grasse or Campbelltown are the two best prems right now 8. CV are popular ish? I think with the more experienced players they like CV but I can't say how popular they are on the whole. 9. DD from low to high
So, with such short game timers and prevalence of DDs in game getting Texas is not a good idea? How does Molotov compare to De Grasse, which one is better at dealing with DDs?

De Grasse due to her excellent accuracy and Good AP shells dmg compared to Molotov.

I don't have the Molotov but from what I've seen/talked with other guys who do have it she has paper armor but lasers for guns. Torps are pretty much defensive in nature.
De Grasse has great guns with great AP rounds. Tears thru DD's like they're butter and has great HE rounds to deal with BB's and her torps are 8km so they can be used offensively.
Personally I would steer clear of the Texas, she doesn't have the speed to really get anywhere fast and also lacks the secondaries to really deter DD's from kamikazing you.
I am slightly confused with shell type choice when it comes to shooting DDs. Since DDs normally have no armor to speak of, is it not bettter to use HE shells to shoot them? In PC version light cruisers would usually shoot AP at broadside cruisers to hit citadels, and use HE for everything else. Is it different in blitz?

I ended up getting De Grasse. The fact that I had to pay extra for its historical camouflage was an unpleasant surprise. On PC version premiums come with camo, oh well. I had to have that camo though...
The historical camo is a must on every Tier VI+ ship. The extra cost in gold kind of stinks, but the buffs are so worth it.
Texas is good as a defensive ship. But only having three 5” guns per side makes her easy meat for Destroyers. So you have to load HE in the 14”. Keep her in your cap and splatter anything that gets close. On the whole she’s kind of a pass unless you really want to support the preservation effort.
De Grasse is the best Tier VI Cruiser hands down. Even though she’s a bit large the speed she can make and the stats of her guns really pays off.
