So far, if I want to win...A LOT... it’s the HMS Campeltown. Almost IJN torpedo range and great damage. Fire a spread at distance at a Wickes and keep steaming as if you’re oblivious to them..and BOOM. First strike medal. Having the ability to lay smoke at tier 3 is also amazing. It’s historical camo not only looks incredible but the perks are great as well. At higher tiers I find the DeGrasse to be unparalleled. The guns are super accurate and stupidly quick firing with great turret traverse. Torps have great range and damage as well. French HE rounds are also great fire starters. The Okhotnik....is interesting. I have a fleetmate who loves it. What works for you guys?
The De Grasse is probably the best Tier VI Cruiser hands down. The guns act like they’re belt fed and have napalm warheads. So at the moment it’s my go to.
The Campbeltown is a seal clubbers dream DD, but too fragile if any of the bad guys have a clue.

Was originally the Kamakazie now I'm loving the Dr Grasse. Still not much point to playing them, they barely make any credits more than a non premium ship
I have been scratching my head when I hear players sing the praises of the Campbeltown. It’s smoke screen hardly make up for the fact it can only shoot one salvo of torpedoes. A DD like the Wilkes can shoot two salvoes, and the Wilkes has better specs on paper in most ways except AA defense and concealment...and those differences aren’t very much. I definitely like rolling with dudes in a team match that can run a Campbeltown really well....I’ll just choose my Wilkes.
I jumped on the Campbeltown when it dropped in the store. I didn’t want to miss out on a potentially OP tier 3 like the Ke Ni Otsu. It definitely isn’t an Otsu.

The Campeltown is a ninja, pure and simple. All about stealth, firing your six torpedoes usually at range or if you’re brawling from behind smoke where you can’t be tracked in return. The biggest difference between the Wickes and Campeltown and what I believe makes the difference are how far superior in range, speed and damage the Campeltown’s torpedoes are to the Wickes. Don’t get me wrong the Wickes is a fantastic boat, the Campeltown just seems to fit my play style more. In the Wickes I have a 74.27 WR after 206 battles averaging 32.2K damage a game with a 3.99 destruction ratio. Campeltown is 77.06 WR after 109 battles averaging 29.9K damage a game with a destruction ratio of 6.14. I think they’re very close and a good skipper of either is an absolute terror.

Holy poo! Those stats are amazing...especially the destruction ratios! I am in awe and envy of your skills.
I actually don't use my smoke enough probably, I don't brawl behind it often...I save it for if I have to retreat / to cover my tracks. I also find the Campeltown (162 games, 72.22 wr, 41,707 avg damage, 8.88 destruction rate) a lot more relaxing to play than the Wickes (20/65%/36,979, 3.78). I guess only 20 battles in the Wickes may not be enough to judge it, but it feels weaker to me. I'd take the Waketake over it too...maybe it goes back to how much damage the torps do. Which is the secret behind the Campeltown. Get those torps hitting to do their stuff. You can get in close, but have an exit strategy. You can be at range, but make sure you are firing at appropriate targets. So basically, play it more like an IJN destroyer than a USN destroyer, imo.

Aurora is a fun cruiser that plays like a St Louis which exchanges secondaries for better gun firing angles. She is a good ship to kill low tier DDs and to set a lot of fires on battleships and if you till have her, she is worht a shot in.
Mikasa is a really fun ship at Tier I-II. Get in close and let your secondaries damage enemy ships and punish noobs for sailing solo. Just that she relies on your own team to be less potato than the enemy team and is super vulnerable to destroyer attack. That said, she is a fun ship both in Randoms and Co-op. There is a reason she is my most played battleship
