I’m guessing the broken progression system is a major part of that problem. Using myself as an example -I’ve played over 1400 games and I still don’t have a teir 7 ship.
Yup, it's the "progress wall" LOL! The costs are so steep and the sikver rewards so little, that people have a hard time collecting more silver to buy the higher tier ships. Until the economy is fixed, this is gonna keep happening...
I realize there were a lot of beta players that kept their progress but didn't the game just launch in mid to late January? It's going to take time for a large body of players to reach the higher ranks, especially since this is a mobile game. Yes, so was tank blitz but maybe ship people are more casual.
Has anyone done an actual realistic analysis comparing progression though? I agree this game's silver economy seems woefully inadequate, but I also wonder if that is partly a perception issue too. fnord's 1400 games and doesn't have a tier 7 ship as an example, assuming fnord is playing not just one line but many or at least a few, should fnord have tier 7 ships by now? WoT on the PC has a 15 minute game timer vs this game's 6 minute game timer. In 700 games (allowing for the game time differences for comparisons) playing a few different lines, did the average player have tier 7s in World of Tanks?????
There used to be stat sites out there for World of Tanks (PC) that showed average XP, silver, etc. per battle of the tiers, ship unlock costs are known....it'd be interesting to see how many games it took to get a tier 8 for instance. Then have that time of battle applied (not game count, but match time since matches are longer in WoT PC) to this game and see what the expected value is. I'm guessing this game is slower, but maybe not as slow as some may think? Or maybe it would show it is way slower at the higher tiers.

To give you an example it would take 80 days earning 300k per day to purchase a tier 10 ship. It takes 40 days of grinding for a tier 9 20 days of 300k/day for a tier 8 You can speed things up a bit by selling the previous ship but if you liked it, bought equipment for it and worse used BP's then that it a high price to pay. If someone grinds multiple lines all the times above are multiplied. It's no illusion the silver eco needs adjustment.
I've been on NA server from day 1 and, although I know I'm not big player for daily basis, I'm still trying to grind silver for Montana. And I haven't spent that much on another lines, just a couple T5 and a T6 CV, and a couple equipment for my NorCar. No consumables other than repair kit and extinguisher... I barely use Silver for any other thing... Yet, I'm still around 6M from the 24M needed for Montana and I'm skipping Iowa altogether because otherwise, this would be absolutely crazy.

So that is actually kind of my point then. 80 days earning 300k of silver per day is roughly then 80 days of 30 games a day. So 80*30*6 (minute battles)= 14,400 minutes of playing.
From this wot pc thread a couple of guys agreed it took them 1,300 battles to rush up to tier 10. So 1,300 *15 (minute battles)= 19,500 minutes of playing. Now, about game length. in ship blitz it seems more often than not games last the full 6 minutes for me. And even if they don't for the average player, if you are only playing one main line, you are going to have to wait for that ship. In WoT PC I don't recall 15-minute battles that often but it has been a few years, but even using 10 minute battles the total minutes of playing time for a tier 10 in WoT PC compared to Ship Blitz wouldn't be that much difference. Now, if WoT PC battle time averages are down in the 7-8 minute category across the player base, not just one person's experience, then I'd say there starts to be a big gulf between the two games as far as progression goes.
Obviously heavily relying on other people's numbers, but I wish somebody had access to the data (or WG would share the data) to make a comparison like this.

By 1400 battles I already had a tier 10 and multiple other higher tier tanks in World of Tanks Blitz. I'm comparing this game to WoT Blitz, not the PC version. There are a lot of similarities between WoWs blitz and WoT Blitz in terms of the length of battles and players per match.
They should really address how much it costs to purchase high tier ships in this game, maybe price things similarly to the tank prices in WoT blitz
Silver is harder to come by in Warships Blitz than Tanks Blitz. No question. There is a benefit for all of us though; the fact that the slower economy keeps players from rushing up into tiers they don't have experience to play in yet. That has been a big issue in Tanks Blitz for a long time.
With that said, I imagine there are way more bots than players in high tiers right now.

Not really. It's getting more and more crowded, but at a much slower pace than I expected. The last couple days I've been having several battles with full human teams, which I don't think it happened before (T7/8/9)

Warships PC silver earnings are much higher instead of 10k in a battle they can make up to 10x the ammount or more iirc. Even tanks Blitz I can pull in 60-70k easy with a premium. Some premiums can rake in 100k easily with good games (Lowe, IS6 w/old gun, T34, Type 59) On tanks console it was much quicker to hit tier 10 than I was expecting, the grinding taking about 30 days, about 1k battles up the line. Its worth noting console mirrors PC for earnings and costs basically the same eco.
In your own example an entire line was ground out in 1300 battles. You are comparing an entire line being ground to a jump of 1 tier. You prove my point.
WoWSB is a mobile game and taking 80 days to move up one tier from 9 to 10 is crazy. Moving from tier 7 to 10 without selling ships takes 140 days of 300k/day.
It will scare or discourage casual players who will seek entertainment elsewhere which is bad news for our game because it can’t survive without the casual player base. Casual players will pay tomadvance in small steps, they will pay for cool premiums. They pay the bills. We may complain about their quality of game play but without that player base we would and will have no player base.

I hope War Gaming is planning on fixing that soon. As of right now, I see very little point in even running a premium account.

Ahhhh.....I thought the numbers above provided for ship blitz was saying it’d take the 80 days to go 1-10, not 9-10, so I misunderstood. Then without question it is very much a slower grind given those numbers.
And i I do see that it’d be better to compare mobile to mobile, not PC to mobile. Really wonder what they were thinking, they obviously have progression nu,bears from all their other games. I know it was a third party developer that made this game for WG, but WG has had input.

It’s not just the credits that hold you back. A “normal” win seems to brings in around a thousand XP. That means to go from the Colorado to the South Carolina will take me, because not every game was ever going to be a win, somewhere between 250-270 games. And that’s just to generate the 156,000 XP. The 6 million credits I don’t even want to consider.
I get not wanting clueless wonders clogging high Tier games. God knows the idiots who spend the first minute or so firing at teammates are common even at Tier VII. But several hundred games to go from Tier VII to Tier VIII is ridiculous. Most people will just quit and find a new game rather than slog through that kind of death march.
And the dedication to do that with multiple lines is generally only found in people under the care of the kind of Doctors who argue about wether or not a cigar is just a cigar.
