On the WoTB forum a pledge was taken on by members early on in its history. The pledge signees agreed to high standards of communication and upholding a non d-bag attitude commited to helping others and helping to provide a safe, informative and worthwhile gathering place for people with a common interest to share ideas and information about that interest.
Pledge signers were help to a high standard with their word at stake having agreed to the pledge.
I joined the WoTB forum after the pledge had gone around and been signed. As a new player I put a higher stake into what those players that had “pledge signer” in their signatures. They wern’t mods but they often acted as mods. They had a no bs attitude and would not make stuff up, they could admit they didn’t know something.
I don’t have a guage as to what peeps here would think or feel if the admins came up with a pledge to sign so I’ve added a poll for fun.
Personally looking at what became of the WoTB forum as pledge signers drifted away and the caustic negative attitude over there it may be a good opportunity to create an in house honour guard as it were commited to keeping the forum happy and positive. This of course doesn't mean not complaining or voicing opinion but doing so in an honorable, reasonable fashion.
If you’ve read this far may as well take a moment to fill out the poll lol
This is what the community needs. Things like this, people without personal agenda, willing to help only because it's the right thing to do without expecting something in return as mandatory. I celebrate this
I'm up for more positivity, better-reasoned conversations, less toxicity, and a better culture than many games (and places on the web in general) spiral down to. Pledge system wouldn't be perfect of course, but even it is helpful sometimes....it was still helpful.
