And yes, my win rate in it is abysmal, some of that is just being a clue what is new in some of it is that I haven't figured out how to use it yet.

Am I correct in understanding that the torpedoes are mainly for defensive purposes and that I need to keep that close to the max range of my guns?

Any coaching to pass along?

You picked a hard ship for your first Prem man, from I've seen the Marblehead is essentially a Prem Omaha and the Omaha isn't lighting the world on fire at V.

Torps; Yeah pretty much defensive in nature for it. They only reach out to 5.4km so D is what they're used for mainly.

Guns; she's got decent guns with good accuracy so I would try to stay at max-mid range for her. When shooting DD's make sure you use AP, CA's on the whole shoot AP some have more armor so I would switch to HE for them. BB's strictly HE

I'm not known for being overly bright-thanks for bailing me out.

So I need to increase my range when I'm engaging, use the torpedoes in the first part of the game to ward off destroyers, and make sure our battleships don't get circled. Does that sound right?

I am a bit confused on the ammunition choice, I thought I was shooting HE at everything except for battleships ( which take AP)?

In a cruiser with those 6” guns, fire AP at destroyers and other cruisers which you’ll be able to pen.. HE at battleships which you won’t be able to pen with AP.

Betterholdfast is dead on. The 6” guns are great with AP vs any Destroyers or <= Tier Cruisers.

Use HE against Battleships and higher tier Cruisers.

But sadly the Marblehead is not a world beater. The tech tree German and Russian Cruisers are much better. She’s sort of better than the Phoenix, but that’s not really saying much since the improvements are really only because of the extra cost Historical Camouflage.

Hunt destroyers, and sometimes cruisers but ignore everything else
