Playing yesterday I ran in to the teleporting hack, a few games where all of the opposing ships focused on my ship exclusively and started the game in range of hitting me and already detecting me, and in one game an opposing destroyer STARTED yes STARTED the game in the perfect broadside position to kill me with torpedoes! I died 30 seconds in to one game and 10 seconds in to the other. Talking about blown away. I didn't think this was hacking, more some sort of server problem or the server itself being hacked. Frustrated I complained to WoW but shortly after these issues, the game returned to normal. No issues what-so-ever that were not my fault or an inexperience team. I have taken to reporting players who sail off in to a corner and do absolutely nothing, costing the rest of us the game. Seems very specific to battleships which is a mystery to me. They have long range and at the very least should be firing, but instead they just sit in a corner of the map and do nothing! Bad AI? Inexperienced noobs? Traitor playing for the opposing team? Who knows.
Since the new update some of the destroyers have a low detectability, high speed, and stock of torpedoes that is beyond insane. They can come at you full speed without being detected until they are at point blank range and kill you with torpedos. I have died 10 to 30 seconds in to a game without doing a thing but running for my life. Never got to fight, or play, or anything but die. It happens so fast and so often that you rarely can evade it. Sometimes you can catch the "super-stealth-destroyer" if you stay off the binos, but it's rare. It's not a cheat, and I wish I knew which destroyers or what you buy to do this, as confirmed by WoW staff who would not tell me WHICH destroyers have this ability, just that they exist. Bad programming in my opinion.
HELM HACK!
Using a brand new, fully vetted, and fairly powerful phone while casting the screen to my computer, I have been able to catch a few players exploiting the teleport hack but the one that really frosts my captain's chair is the HELM HACK! Approaching an opposing ship with my ship 100% undamaged I suddenly find my helm controls and only my helm controls not working. Then the opposing ship turns my ship in to an island, then torps me dead. Such fun! Even if caught on video it just looks like you stopped steering and committed suicide. THE BEST HACKS CAN'T BE PROVEN AND MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE THE NOOB! Laugh it up elites. Drive enough players away and you will be playing with yourself...your favorite hobby!
