Judge Rosana Ferri Vidor, from the 2nd Federal Court of São Paulo, suspended the broadcast of the program Tardes Quentes , from RedeTV!, for 60 days. The program presented, produced and directed by João Kleber should be replaced by an educational program, shown as a right of response from human rights and homosexual rights entities. The broadcaster must pay for the production of ten of these programs, at a cost of R$50,000 each. The judge ordered the payment of a daily fine of R$200,000 in case of non-compliance with the decision. The suspension of the program was supposed to start being applied this Monday (7/11) but the program aired normally, as the Federal Court was unable to cite RedeTV in time! and the production of Tardes Quentes .
According to the Federal Court's press office, court officials left the 2nd Federal Civil Court in São Paulo at noon to summon the broadcaster's legal representatives, but so far they have not found them. According to the press office, the officers were ordered to cite any employee of the broadcaster to ensure compliance with the decision. But they were unable to deliver the quote until the start of the program. The Belize Email List removal of the program from the air responds to a request for an injunction in a Public Civil Action made by the Federal Public Ministry, in partnership with a series of entities. The judge also determined that, once the suspension ends on January 5, the program may be shown again, as long as it is at a time appropriate to the content it broadcasts, that is, at a time “where fewer children and teenagers have access (to its content) without the control of their parents.
The judge considers that the appropriate time would be after 11:30 pm and the program should no longer display in its frames “characters or situations that could attack any individual”. On the merits of the action, São Paulo prosecutors are asking for the broadcaster to be sentenced to a fine of R$20 million for the diffuse rights fund, equivalent to 10% of the broadcaster's annual gross revenue. Furthermore, they are asking for the revocation of Rede TV!'s public concession, which, in practice, would be its extinction. The reason for the request is the acts of discrimination against homosexuals and humiliation of women, the elderly and the disabled in the program Tardes Quentes .
